Please, shut up…

No, not you, dear reader. That is what the guy on the right must have thought when the guy on the left started to practise his trumpet skills…. 😀

I took this photo at the Dutch Open Solar Boat Challenge in Goes on June 19, 2009.

Wiki loves art /NL: Kunsthal Rotterdam

29 06 2009

The Kunsthal is a museum in Rotterdam and is situated in the Museumpark. The building was designed by the Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas.

For an art project, Wiki loves art/NL, I’ve visited the Kunsthal and took photos. I’ll show some. 🙂

Shadow and sun

14 06 2009

For the photography project I blogged about before, I took this photo with the theme ‘shadow’.  The photo was taken just outside the Hospital in Vlissingen. My mother had an appointment and while waiting I took some photos. I think this one turned out to be the best. I like it how the shadow appears on the zebra

For the photo chain, I took this photo of an older t-shirt. I like the bright colours and the blue sky.

This photo was taken by me for a sweet-themed photo project.

Some facts about honey and honeybees:

  • Honeybees have 4 wings and 5 eyes.
  • The queen bee is the busiest in the summer months, when the hive needs to be at its maximum strength. She will lay about 1,000 to 1,500 eggs per day.
  • A honeybee visits between 50 and 100 flowers during one collection flight from the hive.
  • An average worker bee makes only about 1/12 teaspoon of honey during its life.
  • Honey is the only food that includes all the substances necessary to sustain life, including water.
  • Honey speeds the healing of open wounds and also combats infection.
  • Honey and beeswax form the basics of many skin creams, lip-balms, and hand lotions.

Water photos

13 05 2009

For a photo project I selected some water themed photos. I’ll show them here. 🙂

Some weeks ago I took this photo of a fire hydrant in operation when a nearby situated cafe burnt down.

Unfortunately it doesn’t happen too often that the weather is in the mood to transform landscapes into misterious white worlds.  But sometimes we are lucky. 🙂

This photo was taken at the ‘Oosterschelde’ (Eastern Scheldt), the biggest National Park in The Netherlands. It’s a wonderful place for scuba divers. In the background you  can see the ‘Zeelandbrug’ (Zeeland Bridge), with 5 km’s it’s the longest bridge in The Netherlands.

And here’s a photo of the harbour in Goes, my favourite place here. 🙂

a LEGO a day

12 05 2009

Oh.. isn’t this photography amazing? Each day a photo of some LEGO is taken and posted on the a LEGO a day blog. This will continue for one year and started on the first of June in 2008 with this photo:

Still some days of LEGO left… how I wished I had discovered this wonderful project sooner. 😦 Here’s some more LEGO photography:

This photo is the best and just has to be on this blog 😉
